Sienna Investment Managers announced on Friday, March 14, the launch of a private debt financing strategy Called Sienna Hephaestus, in reference to the blacksmith god of Olympus, it will support European SMEs and mid-caps in the defense ecosystem.

The financing strategy to be developed as part of a fund aims to raise between 500 million and 1 billion euros from investors in France and Europe. France Mutualiste, the individual savings mutual of the Malakoff Humanis group, will be among the first investors with “tangible financial support in response to the challenge of financing these players in the search for lasting peace,” Sienna IM said in a statement.

This new strategy is part of the historical approach of the mid-market corporate finance management company. “As essential links in the fragmented European defense supply chain, the subcontractors of the major industrial groups of the Defense Industrial and Technological Base (DITB) face significant financing needs in order to keep pace with the ramp-up,” explains the management company. The management company therefore intends to provide a secure source of financing tailored to the specific needs of these BITD SMEs and mid-caps, such as the renewal of their production tools, the acceleration of manufacturing or external or organic growth projects, with a strong focus on France, Italy and Germany.
